3. Platform Neutrality
Postboard operates solely as a neutral hosting platform.
We do not:
- Create user content
- Edit advertisements
- Endorse products or services
- Guarantee legitimacy of listings
The presence of content does not constitute approval or endorsement.
4. User Responsibility
You are solely responsible for:
- The content you post
- The accuracy of your advertisements
- Any agreements or transactions entered into
- Any consequences arising from your use of the Platform
All interactions and transactions are conducted entirely at your own risk.
5. Prohibited Content
The following is strictly prohibited:
Illegal Content
- Content violating South African or international law
- Fraudulent or deceptive advertising
- Promotion of illegal goods or services
- Copyright infringement
Malicious Content
- Harassment, threats, abuse
- Hate speech or discrimination
- Defamation
- Malware or harmful links
- Spam or automated abuse
Explicit Content
- Pornographic material
- Graphic violence
- Obscene content
Postboard reserves the right to remove content at its sole discretion.
6. No Duty to Monitor
Postboard has no obligation to:
- Monitor all content
- Pre-screen posts
- Investigate every complaint
We reserve the right, but not the obligation, to remove content at any time.
7. Deletion & Data Loss
Because the Platform is fully open:
- Any user may delete any post.
- Content may be permanently removed.
- Deleted content may not be recoverable.
Postboard is not responsible for loss of content.
8. Disclaimer of Liability
The Platform is provided “as is” and “as available.”
To the fullest extent permitted by South African law, Postboard shall not be liable for:
- Financial losses
- Fraud or scams
- Misleading advertisements
- Disputes between users
- Loss of profit
- Loss of business opportunity
- Loss of data
- Reputational damage
- Indirect or consequential damages
Postboard’s total liability for any claim shall not exceed R100.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Postboard, its owners, operators, and affiliates from any claims, liabilities, damages, legal fees, or expenses arising from:
- Your use of the Platform
- Your posted content
- Your violation of this Agreement
10. Privacy Notice (POPIA Compliance)
This section complies with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
10.1 No Account Collection
Postboard does not require registration, email addresses, or identity verification.
10.2 Information Collected Automatically
We may collect limited technical information such as IP addresses, browser types, and usage logs solely for security, abuse prevention, and system performance.
10.3 Cookies and Local Storage
The Platform uses a persistent cookie to store your self-assigned chatroom username. This is used solely for your convenience to maintain your chat session across browser visits. You may clear this cookie at any time by selecting "Change" in the chatroom or via your browser settings.
We do not sell personal information.
11. Lawful Basis for Processing
Information is processed under:
- Legitimate interest (platform security and abuse prevention)
- Legal obligation (where required)
12. Data Retention

Postboard may update this Legal Agreement at any time. Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of any changes.
